<p><strong>Changes in Patent Law after Enactment of the &#8220;America Invents Act.&#8221;</strong></p>
<p>The Leahy-Smith &#8220;America Invents Act&#8221; (AIA) was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama on September 16,011.</p>
<p>This presentation will provide an overview of these major changes to U.S. patent law and how those changes affect patent protection for your inventions.  It is intended to answer the question &#8220;What do these patent law changes mean for you and what do you need to know?&#8221;</p>
<p>Topics will include first-to-file versus first-to-invent, micro-entities, opposition procedures, and others.</p>
<p>This presentation will be given by Martin M. Kilbane and David A. Resser of Pearne &amp; Gordon LLP.</p>

A co-director of a online community for 18th century scholars will share experiences in Scholars and the Mind.</p>

<p><strong>ASM Cleveland Chapter Symposia – April 27, 2011 – Mark your Calendars</strong></p>
<p>This year&#8217;s Cleveland Chapter Symposium will be on the topic of Corrosion.  The event will take place on <strong>Wednesday, April 27<sup>th</sup> </strong>and will be held at the <a href="http://www.oai.org/">Ohio Aerospace Institute</a>.  There will be six exciting speakers (see below) as well as a discussion of the ASM International Corrosion Analysis Network.  There will be an opportunity for companies to set up booths and displays, interested parties should contact <a href="mailto:bradley.a.lerch@nasa.gov?subject=Cleveland%20Chapter%20Symposia%20Inquiry">Brad Lerch</a>.</p>
